CLIP® PISTON ÀWENGEN STAPES PROSTHESIS
CliP for easy attachment on the long process of the incus. Standardized coupling is aligned with the acoustic signal transmission.
Contact free zones laterally and medially in the direction of the acoustic signal preserve vascular supply and may reduce risk of necrosis.

  • First KURZ stapes CliP prosthesis with more than 15 years history of clinical usage
  • Self-retaining
  • Standardized coupling
  • Pure titanium
  • Crimp-free coupling
  • Rounded distal end of the prosthesis
  • Rounded between the piston segment and the loop area
  • Fixed length availability
  • Distal end diameter 0.4 and 0.6 mm
  • Piston surgical technique
  • MR conditional for the future: 7.0 Tesla

Product Information

PIONEER AMONG THE CLIP STAPES PROSTHESES

The CliP Piston àWengen is a titanium stapes prosthesis with a CliP that standardizes the attachment to the incus. The prosthesis is coupled medially and laterally, therefore minimizing the risk of unintentional movements in the direction of the inner ear.

Open zones help facilitate vascular supply to the mucosa.  Even at high frequencies, titanium is an advantageous prosthetic material due to its low mass, exceptional acoustic transmission properties and biocompatibility.

Benefits

  • Standardized insertion procedure
  • Optimized signal transmission
  • Vascular supply preserved
  • Reduced risk of pressure necrosis
